Caution: No hamburgers below! 😉
As we said in our other travel post – Hamburg is big, which means that it offers variety of eat-out options depending on one’s taste bud. Like the diversity of the city, it has restaurants offering a variety of different cuisines.
Some of the places we tried ourselves are:
Lieblingsplatz – If one is in Haffencity area ,then this place is a must try. It’s a bakery with great options throughout the day, especially for breakfast. Everything is freshly made/baked and tastes delicious. We loved it so much that we ended up two consecutive days for breakfast there!
Any guess, what’s the last one? It was Easter special carrot cake 😀
Hofbräuhaus – This place as such don’t need any introduction to the one who has been to Germany at least once. You can’t call it a restaurant – it’s actually a beer garden! A huge place with great collection of beer with lot of choices for accompanying food.
Mö Grill – The best place in Hamburg for the curry wurst. If someone is behind the real taste, this is the place to be. And is famous among locals. It’s just at the city center, but very easily over looked! Our host took us to this place during our last day in Hamburg….
IMBISS ECK is a decent option on a sunny day for having some quick snacks sitting out with some drinks. A place to rest the legs for some time during the city visit and do some people watching in Landungsbrücken area.
For some nice coffees/teas & cakes, try out Balzac Coffee. They have many cafes around Hamburg. We tried lemon & banana cake, which were quite good.
Any trip to Germany cannot be complete without pretzels, which can be bought from any local bakery in the city:
At last, one of the things which we did as the first thing after arriving in Hamburg – visited Hard Rock Cafe for drinks & dinner. 🙂
